RORY KEANE
Rory has played guitar since his late teens; concentrating on jazz over the last ten years.
Since moving to the Mid-West he has played regularly with the Limerick Jazz Workshop drawing inspiration and learning from the workshop tutors and all the musicians he has had 
an opportunity to play with.

Outside of workshop gigs, Rory has played regularly with vocalists in and around Limerick in range of settings; and has developed his skills as an accompanist and solo player open to both tradition and the righteousness of a good song – regardless of where it hails from.
His accomplished and personal fingerprint provides pure pleasure to the ears.
 

BIRGIT BURHENNE
For more than 25 years Birgit has sung with many different ensembles and choirs ranging from gospel to folk to soul, jazz and blues.

Her comprehensive range, colourful tone and wide musical interest give her space to manouvre playfully within her very personal sound and expression.
She is part of the Limerick Jazz Workshop as a bass player and vocalist and has also attended the Jazz Summer-school/France for a number of years, being inspired and taught by fabulous jazz singer and tutor Liane Carroll/England. She also joined Lauren Kinsella’s masterclass in Limerick in 2012.

In 2022, Birgit and Joe O'Callaghan started the first JAZZ JAM SESSION LIMERICK, a non-public summer and winter jam term which will proceed in 2023 spanning from April to October. The very well attended sessions were first set up in the beautiful Piano Bar of the 101 O'Connell St. and currently take place in The Commercial, both in Limerick.
